ABOUT HER WORK
The female nude is one of the most popular subjects in the history of painting, inspiring artsits for centuries. The political implications of unclothed women as subject and ideas about gender-specific gazes have interested me for many years. In this body of work, I appropriate images and use them repeatedly, mix up time periods, and hopefully inject curiosity and humor into the plethora of contemporary nakedness.
