The Beehive Project came out during the third edition of the Self Portraits Project in Buenos Aires. The photographer Anamaría McCarthy (USA/Peru) that works with the body, traveled from Lima to Buenos Aires to co-direct with Alicia Candiani that project. The Buenos Aires Session of the Self Portrait was produced by women artists from Spain , Australia , Argentina and Mexico. From the first theory meetings and after seeing all the participants work, Anamaría suggested to add a nude session with the intervention of the artists in her own body, and at the same time with the photograph of the artists. This semantic double game ended in a polyphonic artwork that expresses the voices and the bodies of the ones that participated of the session.
